Editorial policy
The rules this guide applies to itself, written down so they can be checked against what is published.
A locally published homeowner resource for Waukesha County — published by the owner of BOLD Brothers Roofing & Exteriors, one of the companies featured here.
1. Ownership and disclosure
This publication is owned by the owner of BOLD Brothers Roofing & Exteriors. The disclosure appears near the beginning of every company comparison and every page that features BOLD, is visible on mobile as well as desktop, and is repeated in the footer and on the About page. This site is not independent press coverage, and it is never described as such.
2. Sourcing
- Factual claims about a company come from that company’s official website, and the page reviewed is linked with the date it was checked.
- Technical claims about products or installation reference current manufacturer documentation or authoritative sources, and defer to the product’s own instructions and locally adopted code rather than stating universal rules.
- Anything not confirmed is labelled “Not confirmed” rather than estimated, inferred or omitted silently.
3. What is never published
- Invented ratings, review counts, star markup, prices, licence numbers, certifications, warranty terms, years in business or customer experiences.
- Fictional authors, reporters, editorial boards or review panels.
- Claimed endorsements, awards, reader votes or independent testing.
- “Best,” “top” or number-one rankings, unless a defensible evaluation method is disclosed alongside them. None is currently claimed.
- Local price averages without a date, a defined scope and a stated source.
- Negative characterisations of competitors without substantiated, relevant evidence.
- “As seen in”-style endorsements, or any suggestion that coverage on this company-owned site is third-party recognition.
4. How companies are selected
Companies appear in the comparison guide when they show a verifiable local presence, substantial publicly documented operations, and service coverage confirmed on their own website. Listings are alphabetical and unranked. Inclusion is not an endorsement by this publication, and it does not imply the listed company endorses this publication or BOLD. No company can pay to be included, excluded, or described differently.
5. How BOLD is covered
BOLD is listed in the same alphabetical order as everyone else, with the same fields and the same “Not confirmed” discipline, and the guide’s local ownership is noted where the company appears. Its fuller treatment lives on a separate, clearly identified company profile. Strengths on that page are documented rather than asserted through superlatives. The team’s prior industry experience is never presented as the company’s own operating history, founding date, review record or certifications.
6. Images
Illustrative photography is labelled as illustrative wherever it could be mistaken for project documentation. Stock or generated imagery is never presented as a completed project by BOLD or any other company. Project stories are published only with real photographs and documented project details.
7. Homeowner privacy
Estimate requests go to BOLD and are stored privately. Form contents are never sent to analytics, and no one is enrolled in unrelated marketing by submitting a form. Customer names and exact addresses are not published in project stories unless publication is authorised, and quotes appear only with permission and attribution. See the privacy notice.
8. Estimates are not quotes
Nothing on this website is a binding quote from BOLD or any other company. A quote exists only when a contractor puts a scope and a price in writing for a specific property.
9. Dates, updates and corrections
Articles carry publication dates, and meaningful updates are dated separately rather than silently refreshed. Company records store the source link and the verification date behind each factual claim. Drafts are excluded from the sitemap and marked so search engines do not index them.
If something here is inaccurate — particularly about a company listed in the comparison — send a correction with a link to the page that states the correct information. Corrections are made and dated.
10. AI use
Drafting tools may assist with structure and wording. Nothing is published without factual review by a named author, and no article is auto-published. Every factual claim about a company traces back to a source recorded with it.
